TEN & UNDER TENNIS
WHY WAS IT FORMED: To provide children with recreational and educational opportunities, intervention and tennis programs to help improve their quality of life and promote a healthy lifestyle. We place special emphasis on at-risk, minority, and low income children.
2012 OBJECTIVES:
1) Raise $14,000.00 to restore the old deteriorated community tennis courts on Pine Street so we can provide a safer environment and more quality tennis experience. We have made some progress toward that goal thanks to your donations. The City of Rogue River has applied for a grant from the Oregon Parks which looks promising. We will know more soon.
2) Hold some special events at various Schools during Play Days (both indoors and outdoors depending on weather), but, only if folks volunteer to make these events happen. Only with committed volunteers can these programs be scheduled.
3) Educate the community to the importance of tennis in the lives of our children. Promote the motto: “OF THE STREETS AND ON THE COURTS” to help get our children and young adults into activity oriented programs that will contribute to their lives. Make a real difference in the life of a child in need by supporting this important project. Residents should be aware that tennis is one of the fastest growing sports in the world, and growing ev
ery day. Tennis is also the “sport of a lifetime.” Imagine the impact that tennis can make on the life of a child who develops an interest! Not every child is suited for team sports, and tennis provides the one-on-one that many youngsters find appealing.
4) Encourage volunteers to help make the program a reality. Without the help of our volunteers, the CTA is just a web site and a name. Volunteers can make it a reality.
5) Encourage our local merchants to Become a Sponsor or a Volunteer! Only with their help and membership fees can we sustain our programs and events. They can visit our Sponsor page and become a CTA Sponsor!
